Description
Stacking stones, memory stones: a very Aruban scenery where humans alter the landscape, leaving traces of life in nature. Just take the picture and put it back — your trace leaves an animal no hiding space. They are exposed. The top of the sculpture is a lizard sitting on a coral fossil, in handmade ceramic. The stones in the middle and at the bottom are papercrete, a strong material the artist makes herself, like her CPC. All parts are fused into one solid artwork.
Ceramic and papercrete, 33 × 30 cm. Series: Traces of Life. Hand-built by Helena Hoes in Aruba; one of a kind. Come see it at ArtisA Gallery in San Nicolas, or order online: we deliver across Aruba and ship worldwide.
